This painting was commissioned by a coworker who wanted a portrait of her daughters as fairies, her only specific request was that one of them was leaning on a flower, so I took it as a personal challenge to see how many flowers I could paint...35+ flowers later I have decided to never do that again.

Oil on Canvas, 24" X 24"

2007

This is so pretty! I certainly think you should paint lots of flowers again, because it looks wonderful 2 It must have taken forever, but when the result is this, it’s definetly worth it! Great work! Congrats on the Mod’s 1

:-) Alisa Simonoff replies: "Thank you. I started it over six months ago, and then was in a car accident that left me unable to work for many months. I was afraid that by the time I finished the girls would be all grown up."

Oil: wow! This is a fantastic work. Beautiful and so cute. Congrats for a well deserved Mod’s Choice.
It’s strange to consider that I don’t like working in oil because it takes so long to dry!... 12

:-) Alisa Simonoff replies: "Thank you very much, I love working in oil because it takes so long to dry. I can work it for hours 2"

Wow! That IS alot of flowers. I counted 45 =/ lol Yes...I’m that bored and hopeless =]
Very cute though and well blended!!

:-) Alisa Simonoff replies: "You can’t tell in the picture, but the canvas is 2" deep and the painting wraps around on all sides, so there are even more flowers!"

Wow! What a beautiful painting! I absolutely adore it!
Congratulations on the mod’s choice! You deserve it! =D

:-) Alisa Simonoff replies: "Thank you. It is really nice to get a mod’s choice for something that I put all my effort (and I think it managed to get a piece of my soul) into. "

I hope your client was happy with this picture. I can’t imagine her being unhappy with it because it’s pretty. I especially like your use of color.

Wow it’s really beautiful! I would be awe-struck if I was your coworker. It’s incredible! I love the flowers most of all...it’s a pity you couldn’t paint a hundred...or a thousand....
